Second Life Voted Last Year's Most Over-hyped Trend
NEW YORK (Adage.com) -- It's official: Second Life (SL) was 2007's most over-hyped emerging media trend. That's according to 57% of the audience members polled at the Ad Age Digital Conference session, "What's Worth Your Attention in 2008." More here/. Whilst it is true that many parts of SL are quiet to say the least, perhaps it's too soon to throw out the proverbial bathwater. We only have to look at the broader Web and the criticisms it received in the early days. Like all new media, marketers jumped on too soon but it's well worth keeping an eye on developments inside. The story of Virtual Environments has a long way to run yet.
